2008 MLB Predictions

I don't consider myself a know-it-all by any stretch of the imagination, but I do know that I love and study the game of baseball probably better than anyone on the planet. Being a former player at a relatively advanced level of the game, I often find myself calling a pitch instead of just watching and reacting to the events on the field. That being said, I am going to offer my best guesses as to how the 2008 season will work itself out (hopefully).

American League:

East: Boston 97-65 (Too much pitching and too much pop in the bats)

Central: Tigers 98-64 (With any luck, the Al rep in the World Series).

West: Seattle 95-67 ( I feel they will make the playoffs, but have a good chance to win the division).

Wild Card: Toronto 93-69 (No one is afraid of the big bad Yankees anymore). Please see Tampa Rays.

National League:

East: Mets 99-63 (I promise the same catastrophe will not repeat itself).

Central: Brewers 94-68 ( They are built to win, let's see if it happens). Capuano is a tough loss.

West: Diamond Backs 93-69 (Webb and Haren are a very tough 1-2 punch).

Wild Card: This is a tough one. I believe it will be the Padres 90-72.

World Series: Mets vs. Tigers (Tigers win 4-3).

One thing is for sure, it is going to be an exciting season.

Ahhh...the beauty of baseball.
