Hmmmm. How do I feel about instant replay being introduced into MLB? Well, I think it would be OK if it were used sparingly, and under the appropriate circumstances. I have listed the OK times where replay should be used. I have also listed the times where replay would single-handedly destroy the greatest game created by man. This should be fun.
Regarding how I think replay can be implemented? This couldn't be any easier. An extra umpire in the booth. The umpire can signal up to the booth, and it should take all of about 45 seconds to a minute to figure out the correct call.
OK:
Fair or foul with regard to home runs.
Safe or out at the plate, or any other base.
To determine if a home run ball is actually that, or if the ball hit off of the yellow line at the top of the fence.
No Way:
Ball and strike calls. ( Hello 6 hour long games)
To see if a batter checked his swing or not.
If there are base runners, I wouldn't want to see a replay that would affect the flow of the game. It's not like you can call do over. I think this would create complete havoc and cause the fans watching at home to actually tune in to the first five episodes of their favorite reality show.
Once we start to remove the human element of game calling completely, we might well have C-3PO and R2-D2 out their dressed in blue.
Ahhh the beauty of baseball.

I'm against it. I think it boils down to one's philosophy about the "watchers." Some believe they should be completely objective and separate from the game. Others believe they are very much a part of the game, and human error can go either way: in a team's favor, or against it.
Personally, I believe the umps are part of the game - so good calls and bad calls should be allowed to happen. I think it makes it more exciting as well.
In the coming decades, instant replay will morph into real-time cameras, making the umps obsolete.
And when this happens, I'll think back to simpler times when the "watchers" were still part of the game, which, in my opinion, is best.
Bad calls can be just as exciting as great plays, and the odds of it happening to either team is always even and fair.
