I am not by any stretch of the imagination a horse race expert. I just figured that we have a chance to witness a the first Triple Crown winner in 30 years that I might as well throw my hat into the ring. I am going to handicap this race as if it were a golf tournament that Tiger is participating in. I am going to say that I believe if Big Brown can avoid injury/death due to his hoof issue, that he will win the race against the rest of the field. I have seen the previous two races and I was very impressed at how polished and dominating Big Brown was.
So there it is, my best guess that Big Brown will win going away in what promises to be an historical race and day at Belmont Park.
By the way. While I may not follow the sport with all of the interest in the world, I can say that watching these majestic beasts in full gallop is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful sights in all of sports.
Ahhh the beauty of the equine sport.
