It has been well documented in my blog exactly what I think of Man-Ram. I thought he was the one last shred of hope we had for baseball players that were without sin, and by sin, I mean without the use of steroids.
Alas, I was wrong. It was a sad day when I heard the lame excuse that Manny and his reps gave us, the public his lame ass excuse of why he failed a drug test administered by MLB.
I am no religious fanatic by any stretch of the word, however I find that there is an uncanny parallel to the story of Samson and Manny.
Manny is very proud of his hair. So much so that he had a clause in his new contract with the Dodgers that he was in control of how long his hair could be and his manager had no say with regard to the matter what so ever.
The Bible says that Samson found his strength because of the length of his hair. As long as his hair was untouched, he would remain unbeatable no matter who or what his foe was.
Since Manny has been found to be less than invulnerable, I believe that he should cut off his pride as an act of contrition and start from square one.
Manny has no right to display his pride in his hair like Samson, nor the King of the Jungle (the lion). Manny now has to come back to earth and re-gain the respect of baseball fans all over the world that have enabled him to earn a two year contract worth $45 million dollars.
If you would like to see how Manny looked before he became famous, please see the pic above.
Has anyone seen my shears?
Ahhhh........the beauty of a new beginning.
