I know, I know. I am a little behind in my prediction of the Stanley Cup Finals, but it isn't all of my fault. I can't find these damned games if my life depended on it. I mean give me a break. The Outdoor Life Channel? What a shame that one of the big four sports has been relegated to the quagmire of a cable channel that covers canoe trips and dog shows. But I digress. Watching game 4 and 5 on NBC was quite a nice surprise. Hockey truly is one of the most beautiful sports. What these guys do day in and day out is quite remarkable.
That being said, there are only two games left at most, and I have to say that Detroit looked very much in control of both games, Pittsburgh just would not let their season end. My prediction is that game six will follow the same path as game five. The Pens will find a way to win game six at home. Game 7 however will be won by the Red Wings. They are just too good and too skilled to lose three games in a row.
So there you have it, Hockey town will be raising the Stanley Cup on it's home ice.
Ahhh ......the beauty of Hockey ending in the middle of June.
