NCAA Super Regionals

It's that time of the year. The time where the NCAA men have their chance to see who goes to the big dance at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha. I have to say that there have been more than one occasion where the super regionals have been better than some of the actual CWS games themselves. Having the opportunity to play baseball in college, I can say for a fact that the blood sweat and tears run at a very high rate. I look forward to the great plays, the game winning hits, the game saving catches, and the jubilation and sorrow that encompass the journey to the tourney.
Here are my guesses....ahem.... rock solid predictions for the NCAA Baseball Super Regionals.

Athens region: NC State (41-20) vs UGA (39-22-1)
Winner: Georgia
Why: Too much pitching and home field advantage.

Baton Rouge region: UC Irvine (41-16) vs LSU (46-16-1)
Winner: LSU
Why: Coach's job is on the line, Anteaters don't have enough offense to keep up with Tigers.

Coral Gables region: U of A (41-17) vs Miami (50-8)
Winner: Miami
Why: Long trip for Arizona and way to much talent on the Miami side of the field.

Tallahassee region: Wichita State (47-15) vs FSU (52-11)
Winner: FSU
Why: Absolutely loaded and the Shockers are not going to be able to match up well with Seminoles.

Tempe region: Fresno State (40-28) vs. ASU (48-11)
Winner: ASU
Why: Sun Devils have been in the top 5 rankings all year top to bottom of the lineup is stacked. Bulldogs accomplished a lot just getting there.

Cary, NC region: Coastal Carolina (50-12) vs UNC (49-12)
Winner: UNC
Why: One of the best match ups. UNC has way too much pitching depth. Chanticleers are in over their collective heads.

Fullerton region: Stanford (38-22-2) vs Cal St. Fullerton (42-20)
Winner: Cal St. Fullerton
Why: Cardinal has been spotty at times. The Titans are battle tested and ready.

Houston region: Texas A&M (46-17) vs Rice (45-13)
Winner: Rice
Why: The second best match up of the Super regionals. A&M will give a run at it, but the Owls will play well disciplined baseball.

There you have it. The eight teams going to Omaha are:
ASU
UGA
Rice
Miami
Cal St. Fullerton
UNC
LSU
FSU

Let the games begin.

Ahhh.... the beauty of the journey to the tourney.
