Welcom to Beijing. Please bring your own respirator!

I am a big fan of the Olympics, but I have to say that I think that Beijing may be the worst location to host the games ever. I have no problem with China, except that they are kicking our collective tails in the import/export business, but when you hear of the poor air quality there, it makes you wonder, what the hell were they thinking when they picked that location. I know we had olympics in LA, but the air quality is still miles above that of China. All of that aside, how will the US fare in the games?

Will the basketball team win the Gold? It depends...they certainly have the best coach for the job. Coach K. can certainly deal with the egos quite effectively. My guess, and it is a guess, is that we will be triumphant.

As for the other events, the US will take their share of the gold in swimming.
Gymnastics will not do as well as they have in the past. I think that ther are a few better teams than us this time around.
Tennis, who really cares?
Baseball? Maybe we can actually qualify and win a game or two, after all it is our national past time.
Softball, the gold is ours, there is no one else that can carry our collective jocks out there.

You can sift through the rest of the sports, but I think that we will not have as great a showing as we would like.

Ahhhh the beauty of doubting the Chinese equivalent of our EPA.

Thank God Americans never really do well in the marathon. This year, instead of a gold medal, the winner gets their own iron lung.
